The Iowa Beef Industry Council (IBIC) is pleased to announce the addition of Amy Eckard to its team as the new Receptionist and Administrative Assistant.

A native of Boone, Iowa, Amy brings more than 20 years of administrative experience to the role, including 18 years with the Iowa High School Athletic Association (IHSAA). At the IHSAA, she worked her way from answering phones to serving as the Executive Director’s Secretary and Event Coordinator. Amy’s strong administrative background and her enthusiasm for learning make her a great fit for the dynamic responsibilities she’ll take on at IBIC.

In her new role, Amy serves as the first point of contact for the Iowa Beef Industry Council, providing front-line support for visitors and callers while assisting with a wide variety of administrative functions. Her responsibilities include managing incoming Beef Checkoff payments, processing orders for the beef certificate program, coordinating warehouse inventory and promotional materials, entering Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) certifications, and offering clerical support to the entire IBIC staff. With a strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset, Amy helps ensure smooth day-to-day operations that support Iowa’s beef producers and industry stakeholders.

Though new to the beef industry, Amy is eager to dive in. “I am excited to learn and grow in this new role,” she said. “This is an exciting opportunity, and I will do whatever it takes to shed the most positive light on the Iowa Beef Industry Council and the beef industry as a whole. I take pride in my work and am willing to go the extra mile for this organization and the producers it serves.”

Outside of work, Amy is a devoted wife and mother of four. She keeps busy attending her kids’ sporting events and preparing meals for her family, but also makes time for her personal passion: swing dancing. As a swing dance instructor at the historic Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, she enjoys expressing her creativity and connecting with others.

A people person through and through, Amy says she already feels valued and appreciated as a member of the IBIC team. Her positive attitude and team-oriented spirit are a welcome addition to the organization.

Please join us in welcoming Amy to the Iowa Beef Industry Council!
